Nina Bankova, Co-Chairperson of the Board of Trustees
Nina Bankova, a resident of Maryland for 15 years, started her education at the American University in Bulgaria, consequently obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Towson University, a Masters in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and a Project Management Professional Certification through the Project Management Institute. She leads professional and educational exchange initiatives and foreign policy programs for a non profit organization in Washington, DC. Nina finds joy in creating memories with her husband Dimitar and son Ivan and discovering new places and opportunities.
On volunteering at BCCB, Nina shares: “I was deeply inspired by the selfless commitment of the initiators of the Bulgarian Cultural Center of Baltimore who persevered against all odds to make a difference in our collective consciousness of Bulgarians abroad. I am proud of our accomplishments as a community and would like to keep my family as close to our roots as possible while helping others do the same.”
