Vladimir Tzenov, Teacher

Vladimir graduated from the National High School of Arts and obtained a Master’s Degree from the National Art Academy in Bulgaria. He has worked as a freelance artist in virtually every area of the visual arts as well as an Art Director at the “Spectrum” film-documentary studio at the Boyana Film Center, and has planned and executed stage backdrops for multiple events and concerts. Vladimir also specialized in Computer Graphic Design and Software at the Akron University in Ohio. He has an extensive teaching experience in Bulgaria and in the U.S and is currently a Professor of Drawing and Foundations of Design at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC, a Professor of Drawing and Color Theory at Montgomery College, Germantown, MD, and a Professor of Drawing and Watercolor at Frederick Community College, Frederick, MD.

On his work at BCCB, Vladimir says, “I joined BCCB with enthusiasm back in 2015 because as a Bulgarian I want to contribute to the preservation of the Bulgarian spirit among our community in the U.S., as well as promoting the Bulgarian culture in the American society.”
